How to Check If My Parts Are CompatibleUpdated a month ago

Not sure if your bars fit your fork? Or if your clamp matches your compression system? We’ve got your back — here’s how to check compatibility like a pro 🧠🔧

🔩 1. Check Your Compression Type

Scooters use one of several compression systems. Each system works with specific parts:

  • IHC – Standard bars + IHC fork

  • HIC – Oversized bars + HIC fork

  • SCS – No slit bars (standard or oversized) + SCS clamp

  • ICS / ICS10 – Requires a starnut inside the bar

  • Mini HIC – Similar to IHC but with slight sizing variations

💡 Use our Compression Guide for detailed breakdowns on each type.

📏 2. Match Your Clamp Size

Clamps come in two main inner diameters:

  • Standard (31.8 mm) — for standard bars

  • Oversized (34.9 mm) — for oversized bars
SCS clamps usually include shims to adapt between the two sizes.

🛠️ 3. Fork + Bar Compatibility

Some forks only fit certain bar sizes depending on your compression type. Check for:

  • Bar inner diameter (most important!)

  • Whether your bar has a slit or not

  • Fork compatibility with IHC, HIC, SCS, etc.

🛞 4. Wheels, Bearings & Axles

  • Most scooters use 110 mm or 120 mm wheels, but check your fork and deck clearance

  • Axle size is commonly 8 mm — some forks require specific axle setups

  • Make sure your bearings fit both the wheel core and the fork
